Sorority Recruitment Check List

Are you excited for sorority recruiment? We certainly are! 

With all the excitement of moving to campus, starting a new school, getting ready for class, and going through sorority recruitment we want to help take away some of the stress. We have prepared for you a Sorority Recruitment Check List! You do not need to go out and buy new things for recruitment- what you already have will be great! We wanted to make sure that you felt prepared and ready to go so you can focus on other things- like trying to decide what type of pizza you want from Upstairs Powell or memorizing where all your classes are! 

Sorority Recruitment Check List:

• Register for sorority recruitment online! Click here to register before August 24th.
• Stop by the Greek Life table if you are on campus and say Hi! (Not a requirement- we just really want to meet you!)
• Come to EKU
• Attend Recruitment Orientation
• Go through Recruitment

(See it is very easy!)

Things to Pack:

Each day of recruitment has a different style of dress. We have broken it down for each day and our lovely Gamma Chis' have modeled different ideas. 

Round 1 (Thursday & Friday): Round 1 is casual. We will provide a shirt for you to wear for both days. You can match it with whatever bottom you would like. We wouldn't recomened atheltic shorts or leggings. You will be walking around campus so make sure your shoes are comfortable!

• Nice Shorts, Pants, Skirt or Capris
• Comfortable shoes!

Round 2 (Saturday): Round 2 is a little bit dressier than round 1. You can wear a sundress or a dressy top and bottoms. A tradition we started two years ago was to wear tennis shoes with our dresses for this day. You are more than welcome to join us or you can wear sandles- it is completely up to you! You will be waking around campus again so make sure that your shoes are comfortable. 

• Sundress or dressy top and bottoms
• Tennis Shoes or sandles

Preference (Sunday): Preference is the fanciest of them all. You can wear a semi-formal or cocktail style dress. Don't be afraid to have fun with color- you do not need to wear all black. We don't recommened anything too fancy, flashy or short. 

• Semi-formal/cocktail style dress 
• Wedges/heels/dressy sandles

Bid Day! (Monday): The week is finally over! Tonight is the night you find out if you have recieved a bid of membership! We recommened wearing neautal colored shorts (that way any color shirt you get can match), a light tank top, and comfortable shoes (preferably with a strap). You will recieve a shirt from the chapter you get a bid from to wear. This is a very exciting and fast paced event so we always recommened a shoe that will stay on, don't want to trip or break a shoe!

Things for every day

• Positive attitude
• Your beautiful smile
• Travel deodarants/Lip Gloss (optional)

Your Gamma Chi groups will have an emergency bucket incase you need anything but feel free to bring anything you think you will need! Your Gamma Chi can watch your bag during each event. 

After

The majority of our chapters require members to wear white to initiation and ritual. There is no gurantee that a potential new member will recieve a bid but we wanted to let you know in advance in case you already had one you could pack. This is not a required for recruitment, just a suggestion.
